My name is Zoey Kline, and I am a Senior in College majoring in Cell and Molecular Biology with minors in Chemistry and Japanese. I am interested in biomedical sciences, specifically cancer immunotherapies. Before Penn, during my senior year in high school, I completed a year-long internship at the National Cancer Institute conducting a genetic screening in Drosophila to identify genes that cause intestinal stem cell death and activate autophagy in enterocytes. Since then, my research interests have evolved, and I am currently working in Dr. Milone's Lab at the Perelman School of Medicine, studying biochemical pathways in multiple myeloma for use in developing new cancer immunotherapies. Additionally, I am passionate about bioinformatics and pick up small, side data analysis projects. While at Penn, I presented a poster at the 2022 CURF Research Expo. Outside the lab, I am the Vice President of Penn Infectious Disease Club, an English Language Program partner, and enjoy going to local farmers' markets.
