When I first came to Penn, I felt obligated to become involved in research as a pre med, but I felt so intimidated with no research experience. After working with Dr. Schnoll’s lab for a year, I found my interests in addictions psychiatry, leading me to further explore the implications of the current Opioid Epidemic. Last Spring, I completed my honors thesis with Dr. Blendy’s lab at the TRL, where we studied the neuroimmune consequences of early-life opioid exposure and withdrawal. I’ve gained both clinical and wet lab experience, and I would love to share my insight!

Outside of research, I minor in Fine Arts and work as an EMT. I am also the president of a grassroots harm reduction organization called Stop the Crisis Philly. I am passionate about harm reduction and mental health advocacy. I would love to work with students who identify as disabled, struggle with their mental health, battle imposter syndrome, or face other personal barriers that may make research seem intimidating or out of reach. I would also love to explore artistic and creative avenues with students who may want to gain research experience in a non-STEM context. My main goal is to help students find confidence through exploring their passions.
