I came to Penn wanting to explore both my interests in hands-on biology wet labs and computational labs. Luckily, after searching through CURF’s vast database and contacting many PIs, I was able to find research with Dr. Kai Tan in the Department of Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia that fit my interests. I use spatial phenotyping to identify novel cell populations in the tumor microenvironment and investigate their cell-cell interactions. In my research I prep samples with antibody markers and use machine learning as part of a quantitative data analysis pipeline. I am happy to answer any questions related to research and share my experiences!
