ArtWell Communications and Development Interns

ArtWell is a Philadelphia-based nonprofit that provides multi-disciplinary arts programming to youth in underfunded schools and community settings throughout Philadelphia to support social-emotional learning, healing, and social justice.

We are seeking 2 Summer Interns to support our communications and development initiatives, in addition to helping with ArtWell’s general operations. This opportunity is hybrid.

Communications 

  • Content Writing and Graphic Design (social media, digital/print collateral)
  • Email Marketing and Contact Management in Constant Contact
  • Website Editing
  • Pull content from weekly program surveys
  • Attend strategy calls with Communications Director and others as needed
  • Update monthly communications report (analytics from social, website traffic, email engagement)
  • Research AIO strategies and improve SEO by adding meta text to webpages
  • Research Store Launch/ Merch sales through Squarespace

Development 

  • Research prospective grant opportunities
  • Assist with drafting/editing grant proposals
  • Assist with event preparation including potential sponsorship outreach and/or research

Skills and Qualifications include:

  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Interest in community outreach and relationship building
  • Collaborative, curious, and creative
  • Able to work independently and honor deadlines
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Interest in nonprofit operations, communications, marketing, development, design, research, and/or event planning

Past projects have included: 

  • Writing blog articles on arts-focused topics
  • Designing a cover for ArtWell's branded We the Poets Journal
  • Designing graphics for social media content and marketing materials
  • Conducting research on the benefits of arts education
  • Conducting outreach to potential donors
  • Compiling qualitative data from students surveys
  • Designing postcards and graphics for ArtWell's core values
  • Preparation and support for ArtWell's annual student art and poetry show
