Faculty identify, support, and mentor undergraduates, graduate students, and alumni applying for fellowships described in CURF's Fellowships Directory and on our two-page description of fellowship opportunities. While we conduct extensive outreach to current students and alumni, faculty play a key role in supporting applicants by:

  • Writing effective fellowship recommendation letters that provide examples of how applicants meet each fellowship's specific criteria

  • Mentoring and advising fellowship applicants - Faculty interested in mentoring applicants for the Fulbright Award should contact CURF Associate Director Dr. Angie Estevez. Faculty interested in serving as a member of Penn's Fellowships Faculty Review Committee for the Rhodes, Marshall, and Mitchell Scholarships should contact CURF Senior Associate Director for Fellowships Dr. Wallace Genser

  • Sharing their fellowship experience with potential applicants - Interested faculty in should contact CURF Senior Associate Director for Fellowships Dr. Wallace Genser
