Grant-Writing Workshop
The CURF Spring Grant deadline on March 16 is fast approaching. Come learn how you can better position yourself to be a competitive applicant for the College Alumni Society Research Grant, Holtz Fund, Barthmaier Award, or one of the many other grants available! This workshop will cover common elements of grant applications, tips for writing a strong research proposal and budget, and common mistakes to avoid. Even if you are not planning to apply for a grant this semester, this is a great opportunity to start learning about the CURF grants and the skills that will make you a stronger writer and communicator of your research!
Research Careers Outside Academia
This is a panel event where students will hear from professionals who have applied their research training to careers outside of academia. Panelists will include Dinah Sah, PhD, Biotech Executive, Erin Doyle, Research Analyst at the Urban Institute, Kim Cárdenas, PhD, Senior Research Analyst at HIT Strategies, and Adam Ferrari, PhD, Biotech Equity Research Associate at J.P. Morgan. Learn about their academic and professional journeys and how they built careers in research outside traditional academic settings, spanning biotech, policy research, social science, and finance.
Research Drop-in Hours
Have questions about research? CURF Research Peer Advisors (RPAs) hosting weekly advising hours in the CURF office, College Hall G08/09. Drop in anytime to talk to fellow undergraduate students about their experiences doing research at Penn and get some tips on how to find a mentor, where to find funding, and much more.

Cold-Emailing Workshop
