The fair is intended to provide a “one-stop shop” for undergraduate students interested in learning more about summer opportunities provided through Penn entities including internships, research experiences, or funding to support expenses associated with low-paid or unpaid opportunities (such as housing, food, travel, etc.). This event is co-sponsored by Career Services office and CURF.

The Summer Humanities Internship Program (SHIP) is a 10-week paid program in which students work in arts, cultural, or historic organizations throughout Philadelphia. SHIP is open to students in the College in their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd years. At this info session, you can learn more about the different host sites for 2026, the varied opportunities you might have as a SHIP intern, and tips for producing a strong application.

First- and second-year students in any undergraduate college at Penn are invited to apply for this summer’s Penn Undergraduate Research Mentoring program (PURM). Student participants will receive a $5,000 award.  PURM is a great opportunity to get deeper into a field that might interest you, and to get a taste of what academic research is all about. Over 150 faculty members from across Penn have posted research projects in a wide variety of fields to engage students. 

Thinking about summer research opportunities? Have questions about summer research applications? Curious about getting started in research (at any time of year)? Questions about mentorship and/or funding? Whether you were formally matched with a CURF RPA (Research Peer Advisor) or not, no matter your major or year, come chat with the RPAs! Drop in anytime between 7 and 9 PM. Snacks will be provided.

Join us for an engaging conversation with Dr. Lorena Grundy, Practice Assistant Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and the founding director of Penn Engineering’s new Master of Science in Energy and Sustainability Engineering program. Her work bridges her research background in electrochemical systems with a deep commitment to teaching, mentorship, and climate- and equity-focused innovation. In this discussion, Dr. Grundy will reflect on the experiences that shaped her path—from polymer electrolyte research at UC Berkeley to sustainability-focused curriculum design and national service—and offer insights on building a meaningful career at the intersection of engineering, education, and societal impact. Schwarzman Scholars is a highly selective international scholarship program designed to prepare future leaders for success in a world where China plays a key global role. The program will give selected scholars the opportunity to develop their leadership skills through a fully-funded one-year master's degree in Global Affairs at Schwarzman College at Tsinghua University in Beijing, one of China's most prestigious universities.
