Really excited about the prospect of pursuing further education, but worried about how you’ll pay for it?  Come hear from Lyndsi Burcham, Financial Wellness Program Manager, and Nicole Soroka, Associate Director of Graduate Aid at SRFS about everything from how to accurately estimate the cost of attendance, to how to save and budget in advance for application fees and required testing, to the differences between private and federal loans, grants, and internal and external funding!  Bring your questions and we’ll be ready to answer them. 

Learn how to create an effective poster and practice your "elevator pitch" skills!  We will discuss poster DOs and DON’Ts, using examples of actual posters.  We will also cover how to communicate your research more effectively, beginning with the “what and why” of poster sessions: their relevance to a research career, their general structure, and “how” to most effectively attend one!  We will then give an example presentation and offer guidance for communicating your research specifically in the context of a poster presentation.

Representatives from Career Services will speak with you about why research is important in a wide array of postgraduate pursuits and how to maximize your employment or graduate school prospects by getting deeply involved in research. They will discuss how to best communicate your research experiences in your written documents and in interviews.
