My high school research on the genetics of Social Anxiety Disorder made me realize that I loved actively uncovering new knowledge to answer my own questions. So, I knew I wanted to continue research at Penn, but worried that I didn't know enough. My RPA greatly reassured me, and since last summer, I've been involved in the Ruscio lab, where I help mainly with data entry/preprocessing/analysis, as well as participant recruitment/referrals using platforms like SPSS/RedCap/Qualtrics. I also work in the Beauchamp lab helping with RAVE, a new software for the preprocessing and analysis of iEEG data, such as by writing technical documentation; additionally, I collect data for a new audiovisual study. My research interests are mainly understanding psychiatric disorders and novel technologies for behavioral neuroscience. I would love to talk to anyone who is interested in neuro/psych/biomedical research at Penn, but doesn't know where to begin or has worries. Reach out any time and we can discuss getting a position/expectations/benefits, and more!
