Hi! My name is Arnav Gattani and I am a senior pursuing a double major in Physics and Computer Science. My research interests are at the intersection of Computer Science, Sociology, and South Asia studies. Specifically, I am interested in using machine learning and predictive analytics to approach problems in developing countries. In high school, my research was based on finding more efficient and resourceful methods of energy generation for developing countries. I conducted a study proposing an efficient microbial fuel cell design, which was tested in a microgravity environment on the ISS.

With the support of University Scholars, I am currently working on a multidisciplinary project that predicts regional election outcomes in the Indian electoral system.

Fascinated with math and statistics, I play poker in my free time as the president of Penn’s Poker Society. I am a Teaching Assistant for Classical Mechanics and Computer Operating Systems. I love writing for Penn Movie Reviews at Kelly’s Writers House and playing chess with my friends!
