Description:

The Mitochondrial Medicine Frontier Program (MMFP) at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is one of the nation's leading centers for the diagnosis and management of primary mitochondrial disease. At various times throughout the year, we are in need of volunteer students to help with clinical research projects which may include, but is not limited to, literature review, electronic medical record (EMR) review, case summarization, manuscript drafting, bioinformatics analysis and biostatistics. All projects are anticipated to result in a meeting abstract and/or peer-reviewed manuscript. Please note that projects may become available at different times throughout the year and have short deadlines. 

Ideal candidates are junior or senior students planning for graduate school in the biomedical sciences or healthcare field, are self-motivated and have some research experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Student will have a strong interest in human genetics and genomics with plans to pursue a graduate degree in the biomedical sciences or healthcare.
