Mentor Areas

The Kelly Lab is interested in the transcriptional circuitry and regulatory mechanisms that guide cardiac mitochondrial and structural maturation in the healthy and failing heart.  A second major focus is the study of muscle metabolic fitness relevant to health (exercise) and disease states (diabetes, obesity, primary muscle disorders).

Description:

Projects will vary and range from transcriptional regulation to in vivo metabolism and physiology with relevance to heart and muscle diseases.  Interested students should contact us to discuss possibilities.  We have opportunities in the exploration of new mechanisms and therapeutic targets for heart disease and diabetes.
