Dr. Marsh’s research interests include interneuron development, epilepsy models, intracranial EEG recordings, and electrophysiology.
Description:
Currently there are three projects in my lab that undergraduates are able to work on:
1) Performing quantitative EEG analysis on patients with intractable epilepsy or neurodevelopmental disorders (such as Rett syndrome)
2) Learning molecular and electrophysiological techniques of rodent models of epilepsy and performing the experiments and analysis of the data.
3) Performing in vivo rodent experiments including EEG, unit recordings and behavioral studies.
Preferred Qualifications
Computer programing skills (Matlab skills ideal; Python as well); Understanding of mathematical concepts, facile with Excel or other statistics programs (R, SPSS). Performing computer based analysis, learning slice recording techniques, keeping good records, organizing data sets.
