Mentor Areas
We combine experiments and theory across the disciplines of biology and physics, with applications in biomedicine and microrobotics. Our main goals are to understand the physics of pathogens, and the functionality of active and adaptive materials. Recent themes include pathogen clearance in the airways, hydrodynamic communication between cells, tuning upstream swimming of microrobots, and bacterial contamination dynamics.
