Mentor Areas

My clinical research is centered on human experience of aging and illness, with a focus on symptom and illness experience for older adults particularly those who have cancer. I most often examine the experience of cancer for older adults through naturalistic, interactionist inquiry. My clinical practice as a Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist is in the Joan Karnell Supportive Care Program in the Abramson Cancer Center at Pennsylvania Hospital, in Age Friendly Cancer Care.
