Mentor Areas

The White laboratory studies the molecular biology of human papillomaviruses (HPV). HPV infection causes all cervical cancer, some oropharyngeal cancer, and other cancers that together account for 5% of the worldwide cancer burden. Our overall research goal is to understand how HPV infection reprograms host cell signaling to enable virus replication and cause cancer. We use molecular and cell biological techniques combined with bioinformatic approaches and genome-wide technology to approach these questions.
