My research looks at how people communicate with one another in multilingual educational settings. I am particularly interested in how people use humor/play to navigate "sticky" situations and to manage their relationships to one another.

A desire to look at how small, day-to-day moments are connected to larger social processes, particularly in educational spaces. Some background in sociolinguistics/linguistic anthropology is a plus.
