Description:
Faculty member at the Lauder Institute and in the Dept. of History seeks a motivated undergraduate researcher to assist with a project that analyzes corporate ownership structures in India/South Asia. The researcher will work under the close guidance of Dr. Sudev Sheth on this project, and may be asked to contribute to other research work broadly related to the following areas: Business in South Asia, Indian or South Asian history, global markets, corporate structures, and big data. This is a dynamic position that can be made long-term, but would initially require shorter time commitments (3-5 hours per week throughout the Spring term with a possibility of extending beyond this AY). The ideal candidate might also find ways to benefit from the research beyond just gaining experience. For example, using the materials for their own research, thesis, or other class writing projects.

Preferred Qualifications
Qualifications: Must be a first, second, or third year Penn undergraduate student. Must possess excellent reading and writing skills, especially the ability to survey wide literatures and summarize main points. Experience with data software (even Excel) or any other technical skills related to computation a plus. Must be in good academic standing in their respective program.
