Description:
My research focuses on moral judgment. I am interested in a variety of issues, including whether people think of their moral beliefs as objective facts or subjective preferences; how people place value on different human lives; how people weigh the suffering of non-human animals in their moral judgments; how people perceive moral character in others; what underlies people's desire to punish people for acts of harm or wrong-doing (including those carried out by non-humans, e.g., animals); how people form attitudes about euthanasia; and what predicts moral concern for future generations (particularly in the context of environmental problems such as climate change). In addition to these interests, I am open to working on any other interesting project within the field of moral judgment (subject to availability).
