Research focuses on the formation of megakaryocytes, platelet release and biology, the development of clots and the role of platelets in inflammation and sepsis.
Description:
Research efforts may include tissue culture work with induced pluripotent stem cells and primary hematopoietic cells, microfluidic channels to understand clotting and platelet formation, and mice models of clotting, inflammation and platelet formation. A bit of bioinformatics, but mostly thrombosis and hemostasis.
Preferred Qualifications
Bright, hard-working, willing to put hours in and getting along with others are prerequisite. Wanting to commit to the group for several years is an asset.
