Suicide prevention, cognitive therapy
Description:
The Penn Innovation in Suicide Prevention Implementation Research (INSPIRE) Center is looking for undergraduate research assistants for the 2024-25 academic year. Research assistants will assist with tasks on the Signature Project, which is studying the implementation of a Suicide Prevention Consultation Center (SPCC) in emergency departments. The SPCC provides an evidence-based intervention to patients at risk for suicide via telehealth, then conducts follow-up calls after the patient is discharged to help connect them to outpatient mental health care. Job responsibilities could include:
- REDCap data entry and coding of electronic health record data
- Attending weekly coding meetings
- Transcribing qualitative interviews with emergency department clinicians and patients
- Administrative tasks related to the INSPIRE Center
This position would be a great fit for those interested in the psychology field, especially those passionate about suicide prevention and/or implementation science. Previous research experience, including relevant coursework, is highly preferred.
