Caitlyn Chen
Hi, I’m Caitlyn, and I study biochemistry, biophysics, and chemistry in the College of Arts and Sciences. In the MicroSensors and MicroActuators lab, I integrate my academic work in the fundamental sciences with cutting-edge technologies to develop microsensors for clinical applications. My research focuses on creating minimally invasive diagnostic tools to assist physicians in decision-making and ultimately improve patient outcomes. Collaborating with chemists, engineers, and physicians, I have had the opportunity to explore new frontiers, challenging the boundaries of what was deemed possible. As I have quickly learned, anything is possible in research at Penn. For me, microsensors offer a novel way to see the world: research has allowed me to envision the real impact my work could have. If you need guidance in finding your place in the research community or have any questions along the way, feel free to reach out to me!
