Hi! I'm Hana Ahanger and I am  a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences studying Health and Societies. My passions include science information design, female reproductive health, and public health policy. I was a summer trainee at the Aikawa Lab in the Center for Interdisciplinary Cardiovascular Sciences, at Harvard Brigham Womens where I learned about mass spectroscopy and proteomics. My summer project consisted of helping develop an efficient plasma purification protocol for identification of low yield proteins and their implication in valve calcification. Currently, I am an undergraduate research assistant at the Kahn Lab in the Cardiovascular Institute at Perelman Medicine where I study angiogenesis mechanisms in developing placentas and associated structures. Besides research, I am on the design team of Synapse Healthcare magazine and Penn Science Undergraduate Journal.

I understand that getting involved in research on campus can be overwhelming at such a big university and people looking to get involved can put a lot of pressure on themselves. I want to help alleviate any worries and stresses that new students may have and share the knowledge I've been fortunate to gain!
