Madeline Lach
Coming into Penn, my prior interest and curiosity drove me into seeking out research in Penn’s ever-growing science community. In my time, I’ve had the amazing opportunity to be a part of numerous research groups, all which have taught me a tremendous amount of life lessons and research skills. I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to continue a passion for research that began in high school by being a part of both the Kelly Lab (freshman year) and now the Kahn Lab! From communicating with the science community to thoroughly following a 2-month experiment, each experience has helped me build up a repertoire of knowledge and harbor my passion for medicine.
Outside of research and the classroom, I’ve had the pleasure of being a part of the Penn Women’s Rowing Team, CHOP Volunteer, PAWLA Leadership, Locust Health Connect, AOE, VAW, PUCS, and WUHC Incubator. By engaging with various different groups, I’ve been able to learn how to better time-manage and truly explore all that Penn has to offer, while still enjoying all the little day-to-day moments!
In each of these steps of my research journey, I have had amazing mentors that have all been extremely supportive in my education and professional goals. Research is very broad and can be daunting at times, but it can be one the most rewarding and supportive communities to take part in. Everyone has their own journey, and as an RPA I hope to be able to help support anyone trying to make their own path! If you ever have any questions or just want to learn more about something, totally feel free to reach out! :)
