Meheer Commuri
Hello! My name is Meheer, I am a senior studying International Relations with minors in Political Science and Survey Research and Data Analytics. I’ve been involved in research for all four years of my undergraduate experience and knew before coming to college that research was something I wanted to do. I am also a transfer student, and CURF was instrumental in helping me navigate the world of research opportunities when I first came to Penn. This is the reason why I wanted to become an RPA, to give back to others in the hopes that they can benefit in the same way!
Although a Social Science student, I have equal research experience in the Humanities. I have conducted research in Historical Anthropology, History, and the digital humanities, as well as in Political Science and International Relations. My experience is broad and ranges from Islamic studies, South Asian studies, and premodern history, to contemporary populism and the far-right. I believe that the Humanities presents one of the most exciting areas available to researchers (and aspiring researchers) today! Feel free to talk to me about Social Science and Humanities research (what it is like, how to get involved, etc.) as well as whether research is the right fit and how to navigate and secure research opportunities at Penn!
