While my path in research has been anything but linear, I found the time spent in my labs to be the most formative experience of my academic career. My classes at Penn built my foundations in biology and computer science, but my summer research projects have allowed me to integrate these skills into meaningful and exciting work.
My current work in the Proekt Lab studies how subanesthetic doses of ketamine and propofol impact human perception and sensory integration using behavioral tasks and computational EEG analysis. This past summer, I also had the opportunity to participate in the Summer Institute in Biomedical Informatics (SIBMI) at Harvard Medical School, which advanced my understanding of technology’s role in biomedical research. In general, I’m interested in applying computational techniques to answer complex yet critical questions in medicine.
It was a challenge finding labs or programs that supported my goals, but there is definitely a fit for everyone, and my goal as an RPA is to help you on your own research journey. Whether you have similar or wildly different research interests from my own, feel free to reach out!
