Vincent Ni
Hi everyone! I’m Vincent and I’m a senior majoring in Molecular and Cell Biology & Political Science. Very excited to help as you explore research options at Penn!
Since freshman year, I’ve been working at the Wistar Institute in the Herlyn Lab as a work-study student, studying the melanoma tumor microenvironment using humanized bone marrow-liver-thymus (BLT) mouse models. I’ve also spent a summer in Penn Medicine’s Center for Personalized Diagnostics (CPD), where my project in specific cancer mutations has since then sprung into a much more involved statistical meta-analysis using publicly-available datasets. More recently, I’ve also started new projects in lymphoma prognostication and primary care quality with Penn Medicine’s Hematology department and Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics respectively. On campus, I’m also part of running the National Research Conference at Penn (NRCP) in October 2024.
Outside of research, I’ve been fortunate to have had a myriad of opportunities in healthcare systems/policy, having worked at a federal agency, an advocacy coalition, and a health benefits consulting firm. In every step of the way, the skill sets I’ve gained from research have been valuable and transferable.
As a returning RPA, I’ve had a fortune of supporting folks find and start new research opportunities at Penn, so feel free to reach out with any questions about biomedical research, public policy, pre-medicine, work-study, and anything else!
