Balancing BFS, mathematical economics, and general requirements, Airika Yee could never find the time to explore the one of the branches of mathematics that most interested her: topology. Then, serendipitously, she received an email inviting her to participate in the Directed Reading Program (DRP). DRP pairs undergraduate and graduate students for a semester of independent research on a mathematical topic of their choice. The program is for all students studying math, no matter the path that led them there. For Yee, DRP meant the opportunity for a strong finish to her time at Penn.
