Opera Philadelphia, called “one of the most creative and ambitious companies in this country” by the New York Times, is offering two partial remote internship opportunities during the summer of 2023:
- The Marketing and Digital Content Intern will work with the Marketing and Communications staff on digital products and marketing campaigns.
- The Community Initiatives Intern will work with the Community Initiatives staff on educational programs and written materials.

Specific duties for the Marketing and Digital Content Intern may include:
- Creating digital multimedia and marketing content for the website and social media
- Using Wordfly email marketing software, edit eblasts based on Opera Philadelphia’s email style guide, email best practices, and staff feedback
- Research and help set up partnerships, working with established partners and cultivating new ones
- Updating websites (including event listings), both on operaphila.org and operaphila.tv
- Writing, research, and proofreading
- Video editing
- Possible graphic design projects based on experience
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office/Outlook
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
- Familiarity with social media and digital content management
- Website CMS experience
- Video editing and production
- Ability and agility to work under pressure, to adapt easily to changing situations and priorities, and to meet multiple deadlines and goals simultaneously
- Attention to detail
Intern reports to Director of Advertising & Promotions and Content Director

Specific duties for the Community Initiatives Intern may include:
- Researching and writing for the Student Guide
- Laying out student guides in InDesign
- Researching resources for the Residency, Opera on Trial, and Dress Rehearsal
- Programs
- Assisting in the curation of education focused EDI resources
- Database management and updates
- Proofreading
- Adapting Student Guide content for digital media
Skills

- Ability and agility to work under pressure, to adapt easily to changing situations and priorities, and to meet multiple deadlines and goals simultaneously

Intern reports to Vice-President of Community Initiatives
