Amanda Cui, a 2025 University of Pennsylvania graduate from the Wharton School, has been selected as a principal candidate for an ETF (English Teaching Flagship) Award through Fulbright Taiwan. ETF awards are administered by the Foundation for Scholarly Exchange (FSE) in cooperation with the Ministry of Education in Taiwan in order to achieve the goal of becoming a bilingual country by 2030.
Cui, from New York City, graduated with a degree in finance and a minor in fine arts. She was a Gates Scholar and is a passionate advocate for equity through storytelling. Cui co-directed The Signal Society, a multimedia journalism and storytelling collective focused on capturing campus culture and amplifying diverse student narratives. She was also a member of the Civic Scholars Program, where she served on the program’s advisory board, helping shape strategic initiatives and strengthen cross-cohort mentorship. Upon returning to the U.S., Cui plans to work at Boston Consulting Group and pursue an MBA at Harvard Business School.
