In high school, I taught members of my local community the lifesaving skills of CPR and AED use. My experience as an EMT led me to recognize the importance of bystander-initiated CPR and use of an AED in patients experiencing a cardiac arrest. As a result, I conducted research that measured student confidence before and after attending one of my training sessions. This allowed me to measure the success of my training program and the resulting likelihood that participants would respond to someone experiencing a cardiac arrest. At Penn, I am a coxswain for the men's heavyweight rowing team. As an athlete, I am interested in researching how breastfed babies are more likely to be athletes.
