Zachariah Nagle

My research interests lie at the intersection of biomedical science, health policy, and healthcare economics, particularly how scientific research can be translated into more equitable healthcare. I have conducted independent research on water pollution around oil refineries in Colorado and its relationship to elevated malignancy rates in surrounding low-income communities. I have also worked on computationally modeling SH2 protein domains toward early-stage drug development and on laser spectroscopy for breath-based COVID-19 diagnosis. At Penn, I am involved in WUHC Consulting, where I have worked with Johns Hopkins Health Plans’ Priority Partners Medicaid plan to improve primary care utilization and member engagement. As a pre-med student and CNA, I am also interested in understanding healthcare from both clinical and research perspectives. Outside of academics, I am involved in Arts House Dance Company, Kesem, and PhiDE.
