Taryn Painter

University Scholars Program Coordinator

Taryn oversees the University Scholars admissions process, summer and conference funding review processes, and weekly Friday Lunch Talks. She works closely with the Director of Undergraduate Research and UScholars Faculty Director to ensure UScholars have a well-supported, cross-disciplinary research experience. Before CURF, Taryn worked at Penn's Netter Center for Community Partnerships and completed an AmeriCorps year of service with City Year Philadelphia. She earned her Bachelor's in History and Political Science from the Honors College at Towson University, where she conducted undergraduate research on statelessness. Outside of CURF, Taryn is pursuing her master’s in Social Policy at Penn’s School of Social Policy & Practice. She enjoys the marching arts, reading books of all genres, and cheering on the Philadelphia Phillies and Carolina Hurricanes.
