Mentor Areas

human genetics, genomics, cancer biology, somatic or tumor genetics/genomics, technology and pipeline development

Description:

Our laboratory works on the somatic and inherited genetics of several cancer types, including hereditary breast and ovarian cancer, melanoma, testicular germ cell tumors and neuroendocrine tumors.  Potential projects run the gamut from bench experiments to try to understand the functional effects of variants associated with testicular cancer to purely computational projects analyzing large data sets of sequencing data of tumors associated with BRCA1/2 mutations and correlating the molecular and immunological features to identifying the somatic changes associated with more aggressive (metastatic) pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas.
