Mentor Areas

Within the broad theme of cell division, our research is currently focused in three areas:

1. Cell biological principles underling chromosome evolution through biased, or non-Mendelian, chromosome segregation in meiosis (meiotic drive).

2. Mechanics of cell division, particularly interactions between chromosomes and spindle microtubules and regulation by mitotic kinases.

3. Epigenetic inheritance of centromeres through the germline.
