Mentor Areas

Professor Apicella's research interests include hormones and behavior, mating and attraction, evolutionary psychology, social and cultural psychology, and behavioral economics. She studies both hunter-gatherers and Westerners to explore the cultural and evolutionary origins of human behavior. She has spent long periods of time living with the Hadza of Tanzania, one of the few remaining populations of hunter-gatherers left in the world, learning their way of life and examining their society and relationships.
