Mentor Areas

Prof. Francis has published articles on Montaigne, Rabelais, Jodelle, and Marguerite de Navarre, and his book, Advertising the Self in Renaissance France: Lemaire, Marot, and Rabelais, was published in April 2019 in the Early Modern Exchange series of the University of Delaware Press. His current research project is on adiaphora and scandal in Marguerite de Navarre and the Circle of Meaux, and their implications for religious conciliation and gender relations.

Description:

I would be interested in recruiting research assistants to help put together a database of illustrations of Marguerite de Navarre's Heptaméron from 1698 to the early 2000's. Responsibilities would involve entering bibliographic information, writing short blurbs describing illustrations and what they depict, and entering tags.
