Mentor Areas

Professor Yang's research interests include design, synthesis, and fabrication of nano-/microstructured materials (both soft and hard, and their composites).

Description:

Livestock farming is challenged by competing interests for limited resources, environmental and climate footprints, and a rapidly growing global demand for animal protein. To address the challenges, this project aims to develop a novel desiccant drying system for producing dried and value-added sustainable livestock feeds from food/beverage processing wastes.

The student will work with materials scientists and mechanical engineers and be mentored by a senior PhD student or postdoc fellow in Prof. Yang’s lab.

Preferred Qualifications

Students majoring in Materials Science and Engineering, and Chemical Engineering are desired.
