Description:
Interactive, artificial intelligence (AI) conversational agents may help alleviate loneliness. We propose to develop an AI companion. Our objective is to develop an AI companion prototype for homebound older adults. Phase I will be gathering information from community partners and clients to ascertain perceptions of loneliness. Phase II will be building and training the AI companion based on client feedback. We will also build common therapeutic scripts for the AI companion.
