  • History of early modern India, 1500 - 1850; gender; politics; social history; political geography and ecology

Description:

How did the introduction of new technology alter politics in northern India between the fourteenth and eighteenth centuries? I am particularly interested in the management of water and the spread of agriculture.

Students will help to prepare digital maps and charts of various kinds with data provided by me. This project can work online only if necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior familiarity with digital tools -- spreadsheets, mapping, data visualization -- is desirable but not essential.
