Mentor Areas

I am an epidemiologist and information scientist with a special focus in working at the intersection of these two disciplines in injury epidemiology, social determinants of health, and health behavior. Much of my work involves developing and applying machine learning methods for discovering patterns in complex epidemiological surveillance, geospatial, temporal, social, behavioral, and electronic health record data.

Description:

Project 1: Develop and evaluate social network and agent-based models of health behavior and health information contagion

Project 2: Geospatial analysis of healthcare disparities and exploration of candidate interventions to reduce them

Project 3: Development, visualization, and analysis of scientific collaboration networks

Preferred Qualifications

Some background or interest in network science, agent-based models, game theory, or health and society. Most important: Willingness to learn!
