Mentor Areas
My passion is to improve the respiratory care in patients that may require home-assisted ventilation (i.e., bedside breathing machine for use at night time). Many of these patients have neuromuscular disease or chest wall disorders. Specifically, my research focuses on improving the respiratory care of patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) or "Lou Gehrig's Disease". My current work involves a multicenter, 5-year study to develop a patient-centered approach to respiratory care in ALS.
