Description:
Dr. Lauren Yap is a Clinical Associate of Pediatric Dentistry in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. She is also the Assistant Director of the postdoctoral pediatric dentistry program. She obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) and Master’s of Public Health (MPH) at Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry and Temple University College of Public Health. She completed a postdoctoral Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at a federally qualified health clinic on the island of Hawai’i through NYU-Langone in 2020. She completed her postdoctoral training in pediatric dentistry at Geisinger Medical Center in 2022. Dr. Yap’s research interests lie in medically complex pediatric patients, children’s temperament, and oral manifestations in syndromes. Prior to dental school, Dr. Yap previously worked for the Center for Asian Health- an NIH-NCI supported research group working with Asian American populations in the Northeast metropolitan area to investigate this community’s oral health and systemic health disparities.
