Mentor Areas

Developing and testing non-pharmacological interventions for individuals with chronic illnesses.

Description:

We will test a social virtual reality (VR) intervention deployed during hemodialysis sessions for people with end stage kidney disease. In this randomized controlled trial (RCT) we will compare social VR, a simulated experience where VR users meet and interact with others during shared activities such as movie watching, compared to a control group where participants use private VR to watch movies by themselves without interaction with others. Participants will use VR at each dialysis session for four weeks.
