Mentor Areas
- Natural product synthesis
- Development of new methodology in organic synthesis
- Chemical biology
- Medicinal chemistry
Description:
Work in our laboratory is directed toward the synthesis of natural and unnatural products, that is molecules that occur in nature vs. molecules of design. We have several collaborations with biomedical scientists at the School of Medicine, the Wistar Institute, and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Undergraduates who are interesting in research at the interface of chemistry and biology should contact us to discuss possible projects.
Preferred Qualifications
The completion of the Introductory Organic Chemistry course 241/242 would be useful, and the Organic Chemistry Laboratory course would also be beneficial but is not necessary.
