Mentor Areas

Research in the Beiting lab is focused on understanding how pathogens perturb the complex community of bacteria living in the gut – also called the 'microbiome' – and how these interactions shape the outcome of infection, inflammation and host welfare. To study this fascinating area of biology, we use a combination of genomic technologies and bioinformatics to explore our own data, as well as to integrate large collections of data in the public domain.
