Mentor Areas
- The development of aggression and violence
- Parent-child interactions and parenting interventions
- Neuroimaging and behavioral genetics
Description:
We study socioemotional development, child psychopathology, and personality development. We explore the contexts that children grow up in that give rise to the development of antisocial behavior, violence, psychopathy, and substance use, as well as related constructs, like callous-unemotional traits and empathy. We also examine how the environment interacts with genetic risk to influence children’s socioemotional development by shaping the structure and function of the brain. Work in the EDEN lab is strongly translational because we aim to use our research to inform prevention and treatment efforts to reduce antisocial behavior.
Preferred Qualifications
