Climate change, land, and the environment: International development research and evaluation
Launched in 2020, PDRI-DevLab seeks to identify solutions to challenges facing low- and middle-income countries and foster impactful international development research. As executive director of the PDRI-DevLab, Dr. Huntington’s work centers around one of the lab’s flagship themes: climate change, land, and the environment. Focused on reducing key knowledge gaps in conservation and land sectors, these projects explore human drivers of deforestation, land governance, and tenure interventions in developing nations.
Experimental Particle Physics at the ATLAS experiment and future colliders
ATLAS is large complex experiment that requires complex detectors to be build and operated and yield data sets that require sophisticated analysis. Projects might include making and interpreting data representations, statistical analysis, machine learning, and electronics development.
Research Assistant(s) for Primate Video Data Collection
Dr. Jones is looking for 1-2 reliable, collaborative, and organized students to assist with a project examining gorilla tool use. Students will learn to identify individual gorillas housed (or previously housed) at Zoo Atlanta, and use behavioral coding software (Noldus Observer) and will collect data from video footage of gorillas using tools for a few hours a week. In addition, students will attend regular meetings with Dr. Jones, and may be asked to read related articles, and complete related tasks/assignments.
Research Opportunity in Jewish Studies

Exact focus depends on student's interest and background, but possible topics include biblical studies, Jewish Studies, the study of antisemitism, and Israel studies
Scanzello Lab for Translational Osteoarthritis Research
Our laboratory focuses on understanding the stimuli and clinical consequences of immune system activation and inflammation in osteoarthritis (OA) and related joint injuries, with the goal of developing novel therapeutics to treat this debilitating joint disease. OA is the most common musculoskeletal disease and a leading cause of chronic joint pain and musculoskeletal disability worldwide.

This project examines the explosion in contemporary coming-of-age literature, film, and television that depicts the lives of diverse queer people. It's not limited to the German-speaking world.
Using chemistry to better identify and treat cancer
Our organic and chemical biology lab, in close collaboration with clinicians, is on a mission to develop molecules to treat or identify tumors in efforts to improve the lifespan of cancer patients.
Immunoengineering for Cardiovascular Disease
Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death worldwide. There is an urgent clinical need for treatments distinct from current options. To tackle this problem, we leverage the immune system, protein engineering, and pharmacokinetic modeling.
Europeans, Remembrance of the American Civil War, and Black Art Today
How did nineteenth-century Europeans shape how Americans commemorate the Civil War? Whose story was told in art and performance, whose was excluded from these narratives? How have contemporary Black artists today in America reflected on this moment of transatlantic memory work in their artistic practice?
Family Sociology and Family Demography
I am a sociologist and family demographer. I study how families change through events like childbearing, cohabitation, marriage, divorce, and widowhood and the consequences of these changes for adults, children, and communities. I am particularly interested in how family life reflects and reproduces social and economic inequality. I use quantitative methods and data visualizations to answer research questions. Most of my work is focused on the contemporary and historical United States.
