My name is Fareeha, and I am a third-year undergraduate studying Psychology and Neuroscience. My research interests focus on how cognitive and affective processes contribute to anxiety and depression, as well as how biological and environmental factors shape mental health. Through the Penn Undergraduate Research Mentoring Program (PURM), I gained hands-on experience with research design, data analysis, and academic writing. I currently work as a Research Assistant in the Betley Lab, where I contribute to projects on neural circuits and behavior. I also worked as a Research Assistant in the Boundaries of Anxiety and Depression Laboratory, supporting studies on the cognitive mechanisms underlying mood disorders.

I am excited to support fellow undergraduates interested in research. I can help with finding opportunities, reaching out to faculty, and applying to programs like PURM. I’m also happy to share advice on getting started in a lab, building research skills, and exploring how research can connect with your academic and professional goals. Feel free to reach out!
