Michael Jacob
Hi, I'm Michael and I'm a Junior studying Mathematics and Computer Science in the College of Arts and Sciences. I am working under Professor Bhuvnesh Jain in the Astrophysics department studying the distribution of dark matter in the universe. My current work is on using Generative AI Models to accurately take in noisy data from galaxy surveys and prep it for use under cosmological analysis. In the past, I worked on the Scattering Transform and Wavelet Phase Harmonics, statistical methods used for data compression and analysis.
Working in a Physics laboratory as a non-physics major has given me great experience in exploring interdisciplinary research, and I am always happy to help students find research in fields outside of just what they study. Feel free to reach out if you'd like to chat!
